FISH FARMING: Adas-P to commit and Support Aquaculture

The officials of Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme, accompanied by its counterpart from MCRP (multi sectoral crisis recovery) toured some selected fish farms across the state.

This is in continuation of Adas-p’s commitment to strengthening the aquaculture Sub-Sector in the state and to make it more attractive for investors.

The meeting also interface with one of the leading consultants of Adas on aquaticulture , Aquatic Hub Afrique Network (AHAN) with MCRP, and to explore possible areas of collaboration.

The Chief Operating Officer and Lead Consultant of ADAS-P, Alhaji Yunusa Ibrahim Gafai while briefing media emphasised that, the visit is to further explore opportunities within the Aquaculture industry,with a view to boosting the economy of Adamawa,while initiating more steps for better fish farming .

MCRP is currently working on promoting, rehabilitating, and upgrading existing fish hatcheries in the state.

AHAN are consultants and technical experts in fisheries activity projects and also consultants for ADAS in developing and commercializing the Aquaculture sector of Adamawa state.

Amongst other discussions, possible area of collaboration are the supply of tilapia brooding stock by AHAN, training, capacity building, and consultation for MCRP for their hatchery projects.

After the meeting, ADAS, MCRP, and AHAN toured MCRP’s hatchery located in Fufore LGA of Adamawa State
