Eid-el-Fitr: Namdas Preaches Unity, Gratitude

Former Federal Lawmaker and current Board Member representing the North East on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Honourable Abdulrazak Saad Namdas, has called on the Muslim Ummah to embrace unity, gratitude, and sustained piety as Muslims round off the holy month of Ramadan.

In his Eid-el-Fitr message , the former House of Representatives member extended warm greetings to the people of Adamawa State, emphasizing that the Sallah season should serve as a reminder of the virtues of patience, sacrifice, and unwavering faith.

While congratulating the faithful on the completion of the month-long fast, Namdas urged Muslims to carry the lessons of Ramadan—particularly charity and devotion—into their daily interactions.

“This Sallah season reminds us of the virtues of patience, sacrifice, and unwavering faith—values that define us as a people. Having observed the holy month of Ramadan with dedication, we are now called to sustain the lessons of piety, charity, and unity in our daily lives,” the statement read.

The former lawmaker, who represented the Jada, Ganye, Mayo Belwa, and Toungo Federal Constituency, expressed deep gratitude to his constituents for their trust, describing it as the foundation of his service to the nation.

Reflecting on his current role at the NDDC, Namdas noted that the experience gained in institutional development and strategic intervention had equipped him with the requisite exposure to tackle developmental challenges.

However, the highlight of the message was Namdas’ formal declaration of intent to contest the governorship of Adamawa State in the 2027 general election. He described the ambition as a call to service rather than a personal pursuit, citing his track record of accessibility and legislative achievements.

“It is with a deep sense of responsibility and a heart full of commitment that I reaffirm my resolve and ambition to serve Adamawa State in a greater capacity. I am convinced that the experiences I have garnered—first as a Federal Lawmaker who understands the legislative framework for development, and now as a Board Member of a major interventionist agency—have prepared me to provide the kind of transformative leadership that our dear state deserves,” he said.

The NDDC board member identified security, agriculture, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment as critical areas requiring urgent attention, noting that Adamawa possesses immense potential to become a beacon of prosperity in the North East with focused leadership.

He called on stakeholders, party faithful, and citizens to remain committed to the peace and unity of the state, acknowledging the efforts of the current governor while rallying support for a shared vision of progress.

Namdas concluded with prayers for the acceptance of the Ramadan fast and for continued peace, security, and blessings in Adamawa State, wishing all Muslims a happy Eid Mubarak.
