Dep. Gov Farauta Inaugurates Local Gov’t Boundary C’ttee

Local government boundary committee has been directed to document land matters in the respective councils.
Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta gave the directive while inaugurating the committee, which comprises security agencies, traditional rulers and community leaders.

The Deputy Governor urged them to ensure peaceful land disputes resolutions and protection of boundaries against encroachment for usage of generation yet unborn.
Professor Farauta stressed that their inauguration is a call to serve the state, hence the need to be serious and committed in addressing lingering boundary disputes, and foster collaboration among border communities.
“Our land needs to be protected so that we can continue to benefit from the gift of God.
‘Whenever you have issues with land, we should report to authority and not take law into our land”.
“Whatever assignment you are carrying in your respective councils, you are to report back to the Governor of the state.
“Land matter must be documented, so that those that would come after us, would have reason to continue on clean slate,” she said.
Professor Farauta reiterated governor Fintiri’s led administration to zero tolerance to anything that can jeopardize its territorial integrity, peace, security and socio economic activities along the border areas.
She advocated for proper documentation of every border issues to ensure continuity
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary state boundary commission, Mercy Dauda advised the committee to face the task given them with diligence, commitment and professionalism, noted that the event marks a mile stone towards fostering harmony, collaboration and development.
Speaking on behalf of the inaugurated committee, Sale Shelleng, promised to carry out their new tasks with prudently.
