Danaba District turbans Charles Bansi as Wambai, two others

The District Head of Danaba in Jada LGA, Alh Usman Gindau (Garkuwan Ganye) has on Friday 23rd February 2024, turbaned Chief Charles Suuwukumfakeni Bansi as new Wambai, Alh Aminu Bobboi ‘Sarki Hurumi’ and Mr Neksite John Kanane as ‘Dallatu’ Danaba respectively.

While reading the biographies of the title holders, our correspondent noted the life and career of the Wambai Danaba, Mr Bansi. Saying that:

“The Wambai Danaba, Chief Charlse Bansi, a stalwart and political figure in Ganye chiefdom brought with him a plethora of over 30 years experience in governanceo and public service.

Mr Bansi, born on 25th September 1968 attended Sangassumi Primary School, GDSS Gurum, GSS Ganye, Sakato Numan and GSS Fufore from 1974 to 1986. Wambai, a graduate of Political Science from the famous Usman Dangodio University Sokoto, first worked as a Protocol of the late Joseph Jela, the then National ALGON President.”

“He held many positions including the Sole Administrator of Gangdu Development Area in Ganye from 2005 to 2007, Coordinator for Agenda 2003 Obasanjo/Atiku campaign, PDP organizing secretary, and Secretary of Sama Lera Cultural Development Association.” He continued

“Mr Bansi has been a frontline player for many political campaigns, including DG for Hon Mohammed Bassi Campaign in 2011. (current serving member Mayo, Jada, Ganye and Toungo Federal Constituency; 2023 to date).”

“Ganye LGA Campaign Coordinator for Hon. Abdurazak Saad Namdas “Gangwi Ganye” (Fomer Member House of Reps, Mayo, Jada, Ganye, and Toungo Federal Constituency; 2015-2023). (now Northeast representative at the NDDC).” He further added

“Between 2019-2023, the Wambai Danaba served as a Legislative Aide to the then Speaker House of Reps, Rt Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila (now Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu).”

“Moreover, in 2020, the oil mogul and young Nigerian Billionaire from Ganye, Alh Abdullahi Bashir Haske (Ciroman Ganye), Group Managing Director of AA&R oil and logistics company brought Mr Bansi to assume the chairmanship of his newly formed philanthropic organization known as “AB Haske Foundation”.

“ As the Chairman of the AB Haske Foundation until date, he continues to envision development to the oil tycoon, radiate the spirit of philanthropy and social responsibility, catalyzing positive change and empowerment initiatives within communities of Adamawa State.”

Danaba has long historical ties with old Chamba Native Authority which later culminated to become the Ganye and later Ganye Chiefdom. Danaba and other 24 districts are under the rulership of Gangwari Ganye II, Alh. Umaru Adamu Sanda OON, FIAMN the paramount ruler of Ganye chiefdom in Adamawa State.

The District’s Head, Alh Usman Gindau has reiterate his confidence in the title holders, saying it was an appointment based on pedigree, selfishness and excellence in their respective endeavors. He however enjoins on them to commit themselves towards patriotism and commitment to the peace progress and prosperity of the Danaba by contributing their input in the affairs of the royal court.

This memorable occasion was led under the distinguished chairmanship of Alh Mahmud Abubakar (Ubandoman Leko). The chairman in his remarks urged the title holders to be good ambassadors the chiefdom and contribute to the traditional political process social development of the region.

Distinguished guest who graced the occasion include the Hon. Abdulmalik Musa Jauro, Member representing Ganye Constituency, Vice Chairman Ganye LGA, Hon Emmanuel Dominic, Chief Emmanuel Jangiri (Jp) Sole Administrator Gangdu Development Area.

Others dignitaries include Alh Sheikh Arabo Jada, Atiku Abubakar’s close associate. Former chairmen, members, councilors, state commissioners, political leaders, traditional leaders, well wishers as well as family members were present at the event.
