CRIME: Court Remands Taraba Woman over Alleged Attack on 17-Year-Old Girl

A married woman, Mrs. Ramatu Abbas of Donga Local Government Area in Taraba State has been remanded in Wukari Correctional Centre over allegations that she attacked a 17-year-old girl with a razor blade.

The victim, Iwasen Terhemba, reportedly came under attack after being accused of having an affair with Mrs. Abbas’ husband. The incident has stirred widespread concern among residents of the area.

The Chief Magistrate Court in Donga ordered that Mrs. Abbas remain in custody pending further investigation, with the case adjourned to a later date.

Human rights groups have called for a thorough investigation and urged authorities to ensure justice for the teenager. The police are yet to release an official statement on the matter.
