Committee Inaugurated to Oversee Historic Installation of New Waziri Ganye

The high-level meeting, part of concerted efforts to ensure a seamless and culturally resonant event, was co-chaired by Senator Mohammed MoAllayidi and Iyan Ganye, Mr. Reuben Yohanna. Their joint leadership underscores the collaborative spirit guiding the preparations for the prestigious traditional title within the Ganye Chiefdom.

Detailed deliberations were focused on critical aspects of the ceremony slated for Saturday, 7th February, 2026, at the Gangwari’s Palace. Key sub-committees reported on their frameworks for security arrangements, event logistics, protocol management, and media publicity. The discussions were aimed at creating a comprehensive blueprint for the historic day.

In a unanimous resolve, the committee reaffirmed its total commitment to delivering a ceremony devoid of hitches, one that truly reflects the dignity and rich cultural heritage of the Chamba people.

Addressing the gathering, Senator MoAllayidi stated, “This is more than an event; it is a celebration of our tradition and continuity. We are dedicated to organizing a ceremony that will be a pride to the Chiefdom and a benchmark for others.”

The Iyan Ganye Reuben Yohanna in his submission added, “The peaceful and successful hosting of this event is our paramount objective. We are mobilizing all necessary resources and expertise to honour the new Waziri and our esteemed institutions appropriately.”

The Waziri title is a high-ranking traditional office in the Ganye Chiefdom, and its installation is a major cultural milestone. The committee is expected to continue its work intensively in the coming weeks ahead of the February date.
