After Four Days in Captivity, Lagos PDP Chair Regains Freedom

Philip Aivoji, the abducted chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, has been released by unidentified gunmen after four days in captivity.

The incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as Mr. Aivoji, along with other party leaders, was returning from the Stakeholders’ Zonal Caucus meeting convened by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, in Ibadan.

The release was confirmed by Hakeem Amode, the State Publicity Secretary, in a brief statement issued around 1:15 am on Monday. Amode expressed gratitude for prayers and highlighted the visible manifestation of God’s mercies throughout the ordeal.

He conveyed appreciation for the concerns and prayers extended during this challenging time.
