Adamawa United FC Gets Boost Ahead of New Season, Set for Training Tour

With the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) season set to kick off on November 8, 2025, Adamawa United FC is gearing up in high spirits after receiving a timely donation from Jimeta Football Academy.

The academy, led by Alhaji Ibrahim Maludu, presented footballs and bibs to the club during a training session in Yola. Speaking at the presentation, Maludu described the gesture as a way to encourage the team to chase glory this season.

“With the technical crew in place, I am very confident this team can secure promotion to the premiership next season,” he said.

He also praised the club’s management for sensitizing and motivating the players.

Receiving the items, the club’s Technical Director, Chief Justin Madugu, alongside Secretary, Dr. Yusuf Chidama, expressed gratitude and assured that the items would be put to good use. They also called on well-meaning individuals and organizations to support the team, stressing the immense benefits sports bring to athletes, their families, and society at large.

Training Tour Across Adamawa

Meanwhile, Adamawa United FC is embarking on a 10-day training tour across four local government areas of the state — Mubi North, Michika, Hong, and Gombi.

According to Dr. Chidama, the tour will give the technical crew an opportunity to fine-tune the team for the challenges ahead.

“I am very confident that the squad we are assembling can take on any team,” he said. “One of our biggest setbacks in the past was playing most of our matches away, but with the approval of our home ground by the NNL last season, we are better positioned to succeed.”

The tour will round up with a friendly match against Domain United FC of Gombe, giving the team a final test before the league begins.

Road to Promotion

Adamawa United has been drawn in Group D of the Ambridge League, where they will play 16 matches. Group winners will automatically secure promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) next season.

All of Adamawa United’s home games will be hosted at the Makawada Stadium in Numan.

With the backing of local supporters and renewed energy in camp, hopes are high that the club can make a strong push for top-flight football in the coming season.
