Adamawa State Govt Closes 8 Health Colleges Over Standard, Accreditation

Following the crackdown on illegal institutions in the state capital, the government, under the leadership of Mr. Isaac Kadala, the Director of Public Health, shut down two health colleges in Yola South and six in Yola North.

The committee also closed several institutions in Jimeta, Yola, emphasizing that they did not meet the required standards for establishing training health institutions.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Barrister Isuwa Misali, stated that this action is part of Governor Fintiri’s agenda to enhance the health sector in Adamawa State by ensuring compliance and improving standards.

Barrister Misali noted that the affected colleges have the option to collaborate with the ministry to fulfill necessary requirements for obtaining an operational permit.

The following are the affected colleges: Jimeta Central College of Health Science and Technology in FOMWAN, NEPA Road, Jimeta, Yola, School of Health Technology at No. 138, Jambutu Street, Wuro Kuturu Jimeta Yola, Nafan College of Health Science and Technology in Jambutu, Jimeta, Yola, and Bell Dome College of Health Sciences and Technology in Nyako Quarters, Jimeta Yola.

Others include Fat-Hur-Rahman College of Health Sciences and Technology, Wuro Hausa Yola, College of Health Technology, Almashkur International Academy Yola and School of Health Technology Kazaure, Dougirei Jimeta Yola.
