Adamawa Security: Fintiri Pledges Strong Backing for New Police Commissioner 

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengtherning security in Adamawa State, assuring the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Kabir Hassan Umar, of full government support.

The governor gave this assurance while receiving the police commissioner during a courtesy visit at the Government House in Yola. He described Umar as an experienced and dedicated officer capable of sustaining peace and security across the state.

Fintiri emphasized that his administration remains committed to close collaboration with security agencies to combat crime and safeguard lives and property. He noted that although Adamawa had previously experienced security challenges, the situation has improved significantly due to ongoing synergy between the government and security operatives.

The governor further pledged continued assistance in key areas such as logistics, intelligence sharing, and personnel welfare to boost the effectiveness of security operations.

He, however, urged the new commissioner to maintain professionalism and avoid political interference, stressing the need for neutrality, fairness, and strict adherence to the rule of law in carrying out his duties.

In his remarks, CP Umar expressed appreciation for the warm reception and assured the governor of his readiness to work diligently toward ensuring peace and stability in the state.

He also commended the governor’s strides in infrastructure and governance, describing them as impactful, while pledging to strengthen the state’s security framework to address emerging threats.

The police chief called on residents to support law enforcement agencies by providing timely and credible information, reaffirming the command’s commitment to professionalism, community policing, and the protection of lives and property.
