Adamawa Police Apprehend 29-Year-Old in Connection with Tragic Killing of 5-Year-Old

On August 31, 2025, the Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the arrest of 29-year-old Isiaka Hassan, suspected in the murder of a five-year-old boy, Abba, in Tingno, Lamurde LGA.

The disturbing case began when Hadiza Bashiru, the victim’s mother, reported her son missing—last seen with Hassan—prompting an immediate investigation.

Swift action by local police from the Tingno Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, resulted in Hassan’s arrest. Under questioning, he allegedly confessed to conspiring with an accomplice—still at large—to kill the child, burying him in a shallow grave.

Authorities recovered the boy’s body, exhumed it, and transferred it to a hospital for an autopsy.

Commissioner Dankombo Morris has entrusted the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) with taking over the probe, directing intensified efforts toward locating the fugitive suspect.

In their statement, the Adamawa Police Command reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to delivering justice, calling on the community for continued support in combating violent crime across the state.
