Adamawa govt set aside N4.7 billion for completion of Yola ultra-modern stadium

The Adamawa State Executive Council, SEC has approved N4.7 billion for the completion of abandoned stadium as panacea to reduce restiveness among youths.

Adamawa State is among few states without a standard stadium.

State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mrs Neido Kufoltu disclosed this to journalists shortly after the emergency SEC meeting presided over by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

She said the fund is for completion of the Jimeta Permanent Stadium that have started decades ago by a previous government but ignored by succeeding administrations.

Kufoltu reiterated the commitment of the administration to unify youths, hence the approved of the N4.7 billion for the completion of the ultramodern stadium.

She also announced that the Monday SEC meeting approved formal handover of the C of O of the Federal Medical Centre, Hong to the Federal Ministry of Health for proper take off of the facility.

The Commissioner also said SEC approved contract variation for the work on the ongoing superhighway construction from FGGC Yola junction in Yola South LGA to AA Lawan junction in Yola North, for which N18.8 billion naira.

She explained that the overall new contract sum for the superhighway now stands at N40.6 billion.
