Adamawa Govt dissolves 21 LG Chairmen, lauds their service, directs HoS to oversee councils

Following the expiration of tenure of 21 Local Government Council Chairmen on the 11th April, 2024, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has directed Heads of Service of the local government councils to assume leadership of the local government councils with effect from 12th April, 2024 pending further directives.

This is contained in a letter signed by Hon. Awwal D. Tukur Secretary to the State Government, the governor, appreciates contributions of the outgoing Council Chairmen toward the development of the State.

“Sequel to the fact that the tenure of the 21 Local Government Council Chairmen is expiring on the 11th April, 2024, I am pleased to inform you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor has directed that the Heads of Service of the respective Local Government Councils to take over the role of overseeing the Councils effective 12th April, 2024 pending further directives.

“The Executive Governor appreciates the outgoing Council Chairmen for their immense contributions toward the overall development of the State. He wishes them success in their future endeavor,” the letter reads.
