Adamawa FRSC Sector Command Moves To Reduce Accidents by 80%

The Adamawa State command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has put mechanisms in place to reform the driving profession and reduce road crashes by 80 percent shortly.

Adamawa State Sector Commander, Yahaya Sabo Adikwu disclosed this during a stakeholders consultation meeting in commemoration of the 2024 mechanisms Customer Service Week, said the command wishes to attain the noble goal by enhancing synergy, communication, and cooperation amongst all stakeholders.
“I want a situation in which the driver behaves like the pilot and carries his job with panache and professionalism in line with international best practices.
“A situation in which the driver sees himself like a pilot and carries his job a in refined and respectful manner in line with international best practices,” he said.
Adikwu explained that FRSC has concluded arrangements to embark on a massive enlightenment campaign across all transport sectors in an effort to carry everyone along.
He added that FRSC is working to enhance communication in the transport sector by creating a friendly atmosphere, and enhancing confidence between the driver and the passengers, stressing that the driver will tell passengers his plans for a hitch-free journey.
Adikwu added that “the introduction of uniforms for drivers for easy identification, awareness creation on the nuances and rudiments of the driving profession and knowledge-driven, engagement with stakeholders and discrimination attached to the profession becomes a thing of the past”.

He further said he will also work with other stakeholders to ensure the menace of drug abuse is removed in the profession as well as putting safety nets to prevent road crashes.
