Four Students Of GSS Sugu, Ganye LGA Rape Minor

Four students’ of Government Secondary School Sugu, in Ganye Local Government area of Adamawa states have been arrested by the Police for gang-raping a female of the same community.


According to a statement by the Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the four suspects Sukari Mathew, 16years, Corlins Cambull, 16years, Barnabas Simon, 17years, Ferdinand Mathew, 17years were arrested on Sunday, 24th November 2024 apprehended and brought into custody for criminal conspiracy and Rape.
According to the Report made to police by the complainant Veronica Kezitto a female and resident of Sugu village that the suspects allegedly conspired and raped the ,17-year-old, omitting 17-year-old victim (names withheld) after they intoxicated her with some quantity of Beer.
The statement said: “The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, Psc(+), had ordered the suspected17-yearminors be taken into protective custody pending the outcome of the investigation and legal advice from the office of the Director of public prosecution Public Prosecution (DPP).
“During the investigation, the Suspects confessed committing to the crime by having unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim one after another, and that contradicts our extant laws.”
The statement said the Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, while expressing worry over the ugly incident assured that the law must take its course, advise parents to develop a habitat of close monitoring of their wards, and give timely information to police on any happenings for prompt action.
